Editors Note: Let's be honest, not everyone can afford a $500 Dyson vacuum, and in many cases a vacuum like that is overkill. So, our question is, Can you find a good cheap vacuum? The answer is I think we did.
You can find vacuums on the market today for just about any price point from $50 to $1600 or more! For some people, an expensive vacuum is just not necessary.
Maybe you live in an apartment or small home, or live on a limited budget. Is there a vacuum that can meet your needs and fit your budget.
We found a great choice that does a great job for about $74.00. It is the Hoover Tempo Widepath. In our tests in a normal residential setting, this vacuum does the job. Of course, you have to keep things in perspective.
Here is what we found.
Power: The Hoover Tempo Widepath has a full 12 amp motor, which produces very good suction at the carpet level as well as hose for attachments. Hoover is known for reliable, quality vacuum motors.
Simplicity: Control for height adjustment is located on the top of the vacuum head, which gives you the ability to adjust the cleaning height depending on your carpet. This also allows you to clean on bare floor, although you cannot turn off the brushroll. Great for carpet but not as good on bare floor.
Tools: Often, with vacuums at this price you do not get tools. The Hoover Tempo Widepath comes with an extension wand, crevice and dusting brush along with a 8 foot extension hose.
Bagged Vacuum: Unless you are going to spend more money, do not buy a cheap BAGLESS vacuum. The Hoover Tempo Widepath is a BAGGED vacuum. It produces great suction and stays clean inside. Inexpensive BAGLESS vacuums tend to clog quickly since they do not have very good filtration such as the Dyson. So, in this case, a bagged vacuum is the way to go.
Price: At $74.00, we found the The Hoover Tempo Widepath to be a excellent value. In our research, we found many at offices and retail settings. One comment we heard was they are cheap enough to purchase and throw away if something happens. You just go out and get another one. Also, bags are inexpensive, you can get 9 bags for about $8.00. Belts cost about $2.00 if you need them.
Consumer Reviews: One leading consumer web site boasts over 1600 highly positive reviews of the The Hoover Tempo Widepath .
So, to answer the question, can you find an inexpensive vacuum cleaner that does a good job? it seems that the answer is yes, the The Hoover Tempo Widepath is a good choice on the market today. We like this vacuum, especially for the price and performance features.

This is superb! I’ve looking for a vacuum cleaner that will compensate my weekly carpet cleaning. Naperville, Illinois’ store sells the pricey but good ones and truly works but I have a limited budget. Because of my two pets and artistic kids, I should do the twice-a-week carpet cleaning. Naperville offered me cleaning solutions that work, yes, but I can’t have wet hands all the time. So a machine is what really suits me.
Thanks for the bright idea!
i am also looking for a vacuum cleaner...please suggest me best vacuum cleaner of best quality
